Capabilities and limitations
Dimension capturing time: 0.1 - 0.2 second (Depending on system configuration)
Objects: Boxes, mailing tubes, poly bags etc.
Tricolops Dimensioner can accurately dimension objects of any shape except:
Soft materials (fabric, clothes, etc.)
Objects with very fine features
Transparent or near transparent objects
Mirror and mirror-like objects
Metallic objects
Dark and reflective objects
Tricolops Dimensioner cannot be used outdoors or in places with sunlight
Non-reflective flat surface (conveyor belt, flat scale, tabletop)
If the dimensioning surface is flat and non-reflective, no calibration or additional setup is necessary.
Uneven surface (rollers, bumpy scale)
If the dimensioning surface is uneven, warm up the system for 30 minutes and place a thin, flat, and non-reflective board (wood panel, cardboard, etc.) over the uneven surface and calibrate the area. (Follow instructions in the Tricolops Dimensioning App setup wizard).
Reflective flat surface (mirror-like metallic scale)
If the dimensioning surface is flat but reflective, a couple of options are available:
Covering the reflective surface
Spray painting the surface with matte paint
Calibrate the surface
Follow the same calibration procedure as an uneven surface
